    Hey Deny,

From your other post in the Radio Station changed thread, sounds you like BOTH kinds of music.......Country and Western!

One of my favorite lines from the Blues Bros. Movie!

Yeah, Wolf, I had an old album of their greatest hits, but it was rather scratchy. I got some iTunes gift cards, so I was able to get a new collection!

Been working on my LP to CD conversion process for several years now, going slowly but I'm getting there, and saving lots of $$ vs. buying new CDs.

Actually I love some of Joe Walsh's stuff, of course Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones. Grew up listenign to the Grand Ole Opry, Hank, Porter Wagner (Dolly before she became her own woman), Marty Robbins. Then I got my own radio. First Radio was an Admiral. I hooked some old wire up to some old 4" car tweeters strung around my room to get "stereo".

RUSH, Boston, Black Sabbath, AC/DC those were the groups I listened to most in my youth. I still think RUSH is the greatest total package of musicians I have seen yet. All three can play their instruments as well or better than any others I have seen IMHO.

Yep, I gotta agree with you on that one. That Neil Peart isn't human, he's a friggin' super machine. I've seen them live back in the early 90's, and Geddy was playing bass, keyboards, and singing all at once. Awesome.

            Question for RUSH afficionados?

            Okay,

Don't shoot or hate me! Due to Rush's non-commercialistic style, I've only heard Tom Sawyer on the radio, not any of their other stuff. I don't know much about them. I do know that I'm not thrilled with the lead singer's vocals, but can still appreciate fine musicianship. I, too, enjoy many of the other classic rock and hard rock, ie. Led Zep, AC/DC, even some Metallica, etc.. I enjoy the instrumentalization much more so than the lyricism, but I also like a decent melody or tune I can follow, not a bunch of unsynchopated cacaphony!

SO.....what other tunes from RUSH would you all say are their best works, a greatest hits list if you will? I've got a friend on the Yahoo list that "may" be sending me some RUSH, but would like to be more familiar with the names of the songs.

Making Memories, Fly By Night, Xanadu, Closer to the Heart, YYZ, Big Money, well i rate all of the Power Windows album. Geddy Lee did a solo effort with Bob and Doug McKenzie called Take Off, suberb.

Check out the Moving Pictures album. That's probably their best IMHO. You can download it for free with Bit Torrent.

2112 is the most notable in my opinon. Moving Pictures has alot of their better stuff from the older years. Did not care for a lot of Presto, Counterparts has some good stuff in it. Signals was good if you like the more techno sound. Exit Stage Left is a good "best of" album for the early stuff.

Individual songs, Fly by Night, Closer to the Heart, Working Man, Spirit of the Radio, Free Will, of course Red Barchetta, Big Money, YYZ is the real instrumental. I could kill half a page listing all my favorites, but this would be a good start.
