  • Possible tank name badges

I was on the St. Louis craigslist just now and for some reason I looked at an ad selling 2 Yamaha snowmobiles. A side shot of the red one showed what looked like the raised gold letter name badge. Beautiful Gold YAMAHA on the side of the cowl. So, all you snow bunnies check your Snowmobile dealers and tell us what you find.

    Hi Jack,
yeah, and Yamaha also puts the identical-looking badges on their golf carts.
They cost perhaps $5 each. Scam artists used to peddle them on E-Bay as motorcycle tank badges, typically bringing in $30 to $50 a set.
Too bad that the golf cart badges have slightly different bolt centers and are dead flat. Take an old badge to the Snowmobile dealer's for comparison before you lay your money down.
