"Some people shouldn't be allowed to post..."

          ...much less edit.

The only thing I know about editting... after you post, you have a few minutes(three or four), in which you can edit without the post saying,
          "Editted by xxxx"
I don't know about this new format, but on the old one, you could go back at any time and edit your stuff.

And I suppose that stopping one's computer from switching it's silly self off as one typed "OK, I found the edit button" on the about-to-be-edited post is beyond the moderator's control, eh?

I think it's done this way on purpose so that if you realize more than 10 minutes after you post something that you have just made a total fool of yourself, you're SOL, and all you can do is post a new entry aknowledging the fact.

                  Hi 'bug,
it's one of the corollaries of McPherson's Law of Dynamic Negatives that one can proof-read a post ten times over and find no fault in it but after it's posted the typo jumps right out for everyone to see. Now that I understand the edit feature, that "everyone" is at least limited to those who happen to open a post in the first four of five minutes.

                    May I direct you to:
                    insight anyone, Mr Moderator?
Now Wiz... what is an insight, if not an opinion?
Sort of like the lady that asks her doctor for a second opinion, and he replies...
                    "You're ugly, too."

                      Editting posts.

We added a few minutes due to folks single finger style of typing, so you actually have 10 minutes now instead of just the 5 that were on the old site!

It's setup that way in hopes that folks will at least "try" to think about what they are posting before blurting out things that they might regret later....more about personal attacks and such. That way they couldn't come back an hour later and edit it and then "say" they never said that!

Other editting options are available thru the Mods and Admins, a few threads have been deleted at the request of the starter for various reasons of courtesy, etc.!
