  • Anybody else crash over Thankgiving?

Well it was in a car at least! Monday on the way home we hit some icy roads, and just lost it. I was riding shotgun and got the worst of it with head, neck, upperback getting tweaked badly as the Explorer ended up on it's roof in the median. Dena was luckier with only some bruises and some cuts on her hand. Everthing is OK for now.

              Hi Gary,
Glad to hear you and Dena survived the incedent. Are they going to fix it or do you get a new one? If to be repaired get a tarp over it or the interior will get wet/snow covered.

                Dang Gary,

Heck of a way to downsize to a Hybrid!! Glad to hear you both were okay, if not jostled around a bit. Just the thing for your already weak back, eh?! Aren't seat belts wonderful?!

Can't tell by the photos, but looks like the front windshield survived intact, can't see any cracks, just some bending so far, surprising! Also nice to see that the roof supported the entire weight of the vehicle!

                Anyways, get well soon.

                  ouch.

All I could think was: "Have you driven a Ford lately?"

                  Glad you are both ok.

Mine happened about two weeks ago, an oncoming Jeep went across center and sideswiped my diminutive Chrysler Cirrus. Didn't look as bad as yours, but they called tonight and said it is totaled. We should look at new cars together.

Glad to hear you two are OK.

I'm always slightly amazed when I see a big SUV like that on its top and not flattening itself. Seen a few here lately.

Glad you guys are ok! My daughter and older son were coming home from visiting their egg donor on sunday and wrecked in Breezewood PA. I got the phone call about 3:00pm sunday, jumped in the truck and hauled for central PA. picked the kids @ a bit after 10:00pm (they were ok, just shook up a bit; the car is totalled though), drove back to western OH, got home @ 4:40 am, sacked for 2 hours and off to Detroit on business, got home tues. eve. @ approx 8:15pm (although I did make a detour to Cleveland to pick up a fairing I scored off the bay, otherwise, I'd have been home @ 4:00 ish). anyway, glad everyone is going to be ok, no serious damage to peeps, stuff can be replaced, peeps can't. now for the whole "there by the grace of god go I" thing as all told, I've covered 1400 miles since sunday @ 3:00pm. man O'm beat, have a nice day and ride safe.

Thanks for the well wishes guys! I am still in a lot of pain but hopefully it will heal up nicely...(5 months until riding season!). The Explorer is total for sure, it 5 years old and damage is fairly severe. I think the roof stayed up because my head stopped it from crushing further! Seriously they do build some safety into these now, the windshield did spider crack on the driver side, but did not shatter. Seat belts did hold us, even upside down, my shoulder has a sore red spot to prove it!
