Other than NAVY and USMC, the one I heard the most when I was in the service was BOHICA.
    Hi...my name is Mike, and I'm a lane-splitter.

We, there is TXOM (Thanks, Old Man) from ham radio, and from science fiction we get TANSTAAFL (There Aint No Such Thing As A Free Lunch).

Computer science has a ton of acronyms, won't go into them all here, but my favorite is PEBKAC (Probem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair).

Speaking of computer ones, I use one quite often when telling people how I fixed their computer without doing a thing. I just walk up to it and the problem disappears.
It's called LOOTH-ing. Laying On Of The Hands.

            Hi Mike,
moving along from BOHICA there's GYAAG (grab your ankles and grin)
Robert Heinlein initiated TANSTAAFL and again from a Science Fiction author, I like Larry Niven's TANJ (there ain't no justice)

Short initialisations for big phrases or names.

              Can anyone beat 'The G'?

The 'G' is the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
              Automotive Imbecile.
Proud owner of 'The Swiftcicle'. (Swifty for short)

Going along with the computer theme, I have classified some computer problems as OTS errors. I am by no means a computer expert but occasionally I get requests to sort out problems people are having with their "stupid" and unresponsive systems. Once I find a remedy, usually due to them having clicked on the wrong icon, they ask what the cause was? I just tell them it was a OTS error and walk away. They nod knowlingly and smile.

                BTW (OTS....Operator too stupid)
