well,I don't think anyone took my sarcasm the way I intended. I wasn't meaning to start a linux debate. Just trying to be humorous. That usually doesn't work out to well for me anyway.
The simplest way I have found to try linux is with a "live DVD" where the entire OS in run on a burned DVD, and it doesn't mess with anything on your machine. If you decide you like it, there is an option to install.
I haven't messed with linux for a long time. I did once do a ground up install of linux, compiling every package and messing with the kernel, but realized that by the time I was done, my computer would be archaic.

... I put the 470uF/35V RS cap in there($1.29), put the Mobo in the case, plugged in a known good PWS, connected a PC speaker to the proper connectors(D/L'd the MoBo manual from MSI) and connected the POWER switch front case connecter, and hit it and nothing! The PWS fan did not come on. I took my voltmeter and checked the Power On pins, and NO voltage coming across/thru them, so apparently like Wes said, the Volt Reg. IC probably got fried when the Cap went!
Oh well, it was a fun experiment to see IF I could do it, learned a little along the way!
