  • I just couldn't help myself

Saw an ad on my local Craigslist for a '79 standard bagger, went to see it, and I just couldn't help myself when heard it start up after six+ months of being layed up. It's a 79 with the newer carbs, series 3, and the coolest 4 X 2stainless steel exhaust system I've seen and heard. After I post some pics I'd like some help identifying it.
    Picking it up on Thursday!!!
I know, I know..... Pics wil be forthcoming.
In the meantime..... I will have some bags, trunk, and frame/mount for sale soon after I get it, for those who want some.
    Thanks.

Someone here in NH had a beautiful XS1000, silver, for sale on Craig's list. I emailed him and told him to list it on this site. Not sure if he did or not.

Thats what got me into having 3 bikes.. couldnt help myself

For those that are new here... its a 78 standard, 1.1 euro standard and 1998 cali ev.

Maybe, one day, the 78 (one in a dress) will have to go to make room for another guzzi..... well I know I know, but there is just no space and I want a 70s V2 cafe racer

        Something like this.

        LP
If it doesn't have an engine, it's not a sport, it's only a game.

            OK Here it is.....

This is after a good pressure washing. After the pics were taken the bags and the trunk came off. Anyone interested???

And my buddy Bikerphil who was nice enought to trailer it home for me:

The exhaust, any ideas of what it might be??

Any ideas on what that exhaust might be will be appreciated. Supertrapp??
You said you like photos, right?

I think I'm going to turn it into a Mad Max like Lostsouls74's
            Suggestions??

Those pipes look like the almost never seen "jardine spaghetti headers" with some other type of turned out slash-cut slip-ons to me.

They are defininitly Jardine pipes. Look on the mounting tab on the muffler, where it attaches to the foot peg bracket. You will see the word Jardine, and a P/N stamped in it.

If they are Jardine, are they better than Kerker or the RC exhausts?

If they are truly Jardines, they are pretty well worthless so, if you like, I can take them off your hands if need be

Dude, I agree with Ernie...especially if they are that super heavy stainless!
Probably junk. You could just send 'em to me and I would even let you pay for shipping.
Or... you could put any other type of Kerker or RC slip-ons that you like on the end of the headers.

Yup, Jardine. I just sold a set just like them to a guy in Conn, or Mas. for $75. I had no idea everyone liked them so much. I'd have put them on ebay. Also have a set on my 78 with megphones, stainless too. They sound badass.

I also can't help myself, I'm up to 4 xs's now and have parts for three more, I'm going to narrow it down to two or three, in the spring, before my wife kills me.
