Anyone ever do any of these rides? sounds like quite an experience. I wish there were something closer to nebraska.

JP Honeywell has done it. Think he is the only one to do it on an XS or XJ though.

I am going to do the SaddleSore 1000 in a few months on my XS.
Several of the IB rides can be done on your own or with buddies in your area, SaddleSore 1000, Butburner 1500 and many others.

        Yeah, I did a BunBurner Gold. 1500/24

There was a guy around Houston who did a SaddleSore on an XS850 and I know he wanted to do one on his XS11 but I can't remember if he did it. Steve Gano.

I'd better look it up on the Ironbutt site

JP Honeywell Vernon Hills, IL 08/09/97 79 Yamaha XS-11 1,545

Brent Hoovestol Buford, GA 03/05/02 Yamaha XS1100SG 1,020

Seppo Ronkko Vierema, FINLAND 07/20/01 Yamaha XS-11 1,005

Steve Smith Jacksonville, NC 04/12/01 Yamaha XS1100 Spec 1,054

Hosrt Unger Cascade Classic 08/07/99 Yamaha XS11 1,020

Michael Robinson Langhorne, PA 10/04/98 Yamaha XS1100 1,013

        Stephen M. Gano Houston, TX 02/14/98 Yamaha XS850 1,458

        Stephen M. Gano Houston, TX 02/15/98 Yamaha XS850 1,532
(I think that was for a Saddlesore and a Bun Burner on the same trip - he missed the BBG so he filed for the two lesser awards)

So it appears I might have been the first documented IBA XS11 rider and the only BBG rider.

For a while I held the title of oldest BBG bike but that was snatched from me:

Oldest Bun Burner Gold motorcycle: Joe Glowacki 08/29/01 1977 BMW R80/7
Second oldest: Andrew Higgins 09/12/01 1978 Honda GL1000

        What was the question again?

Oh yeah. You can do an IBA ride from anywhere to anywhere - as long as you have the miles - and documentation.

Those long rides in a short time are a part of our sport that I've never done. I guess you'd have to prepare and work up to it. I guess you'd have to be tough as nails too. Congratulations to those who do it.
