  • County wide emergency!!

    3rd time this winter!!

This time for a minor ice storm that has knocked out power and downed lots of trees. Two weeks ago it was 75 and I got a 100 mile ride in. Next 7 days looks like hell. Even the garage door is frozen shut! The ice is expected to continue to pile up till after midnight tonight. Here is a few pictures, I think I am going to cry

Even Old Glory was frozen solid.

Oh man, I know how much that sucks. We got hit here in Lexington, KY with a HUGE ice storm this year. No power for a week at my place. The whole town looked like a war zone for two weeks.

Man, that looks DANGEROUS! We haven't had much ice, but it snowed again last night and this morning (two inches), and the pile of snow in my yard is still about 7 feet high! I think it'll come down some by the end of May!

It HAS to warm up soon so I can get "Stark" ready for XS Northeast!

Texans are right, everything is big here

Those trees look miserable. I thought I was glad that I am here in Texas, Richmond (Dallas area) for the week. But night before last we had tornado warnings, and hail. I don't stretch it when I say that I picked up grapefruit size hail. 3 inches across. I had parked my rental car next to a honda 1100 under the awning of the motel when a 2003 cadillac pulled up with huge dents all over the car. The truck just a few feet away had a broken windshield.

Texas weather is great, no misearable, no great, no miserable, just wait a few minutes it will be different.

Well let's see, remember the pictures I posted above? Well the flag got so heavy the metal bracket snapped in half, sending it crashing down. The bush outside my window, also crashed to the ground. Power is still out to several communities in this county. The total was 300,000 with power out state wide, 12 counties were declared disaster areas. Lots of wires and trees blocking almost every road. Life slowly is returning to normal.....all I can say is 'Kiss my ice!"

These pictures only show my place, some places I saw were much, much, worse.

The guy wire on my power pole snapped, luckily it did not fall over.

We ran this baby 23.5 hrs a day for 4 days, I changed the oil every day on it.

There's a mild electric shock causing a tingling and mild numbness. All in all, not an entirely unpleasant feeling.
