  • two out of three

    This is the text from the sign I used to have on my electronic shop door:

    You can have it done:
    1. Quickly
    2. Cheaply
    3. Correctly
    Please pick any two of three.

    Hell, if you get two out of three, you're either working too hard or not getting paid enough.

          My favorite

          You may have it right.
          Or;
          You may have it now.

          You may not have it right now.

            Or....

            Do you want me to work on it, or do you want it done right?
            How about 'You want what, when?'
            Or 'The more you ask if it is ready, the longer it will take.'

                Signs in my office, "A lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part".

                "The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes an extra day".

                "If you need it done today, you need to order it yesterday".

                And my favorite;

                "We the underpaid, lead by the unknowing, have been doing so much with so little, for so long, we are now qualified to do anything with nothing".

                The universal sign;

                "Yes dear".

                    I had an engineering professor tell us the first rule of engineering.

                    You can have it cheap
                    You can have it durable
                    You can have it light

                    Pick 2

                    Funny thing is it still holds true.
                    I hate signatures. Too many cars and Bikes to list here.
