  • "Contest... it's contest time!"

A member, who wished to remain anonymous, has kindly offered to donate a valve shim tool to a good cause... mainly, to anyone who doesn't have one. (Sadly, due to shipping costs, this contest is only available to members in the United States and Canada.)

He suggested a raffle, or a contest of some sort, but couldn't come up with specifics.
Can't ask technical questions... almost everyone has a manual with the answers in it.
What to do... What to do...?

For a contest question, someone suggested:
"How many dates has Prometheus had in the last two years?"
Sure, that's a valid contest question... but when 90% of the members correctly answer "ZERO", how are we to determine which one of them gets the prize?

    So, here's the deal.
Members wishing to play will pick, and post a number from 1 to 300.
Do not pick a number that has already been posted... duh!
Anyway... we'll run this for a week.
Next Monday night, the winning number will be picked by a random number generator.
Whoever picked the correct number wins.
If no one picks the number, it shall go to whomever picked closer.
(If two members pick numbers close, say one picked 174 and the other picked 176, while the winning number was 175, the prize will go to the lower number)

So... "Pick a number from 1 to 300."
