  • Around superior we go!

Ok looking for anyone who had done a complete lap or a portion on an xs. Trying to plan a trip around middle of august 2009. Looking for a better route than mapquest can give. Any and all help would be useful.

    Thanks
    Matt - exquized1

P.S. this would be the fall route for Xs-sively Lost. I am going to keep moving the route in hopes of meeting the majority of you!

.......bout the same here but I did it on the Algoma Central Railway Agawa Canyon train tour in the great white north up to Hearst, CN and saw a bunch of moose! LOL

It sure does sound like fun on a bike!

You might try Google Maps. It seems to be a bit more detailed for what you're looking for.

I spent a few days going around it in a car a year or so ago. Spent a day near Wawa - there was a bike friendly provincial campsite just outside where I met a German couple riding across Canada on dual sports.

We spent another night at Tahquamenon Falls state park in Michigan, which has some great beer and really good food, but the camping is a little barren. We also spent part of a day on Mackinaw Island, which is worth a trip.

Overall, the roads were much more scenic on the Canadian side, but were also more prone to changes in weather and strong winds.

I can try to research the actual places we stayed at or any more information if you need more details. It was a great trip and I really got the bug to ride it as well after seeing those two on dual sports.

I'd be all about that trip for sure. Actually been wanting to do that as an ironbutt, but that'll be some other time.

I know the UP okay. (Spent 7 years traveling between MTU in Houghton and downstate) One non-negotiable route should be up into the Keweenaw Peninsula- up on 26 and back on 41. Hit up Brockway Mtn. Drive in Copper Harbor. Best roads I've ridden after the Dragon.
I can offer good roads, waterfalls to vist, places to eat, camping spots, etc... for that half. I don't have the slightest clue about Canadia, though. Let me know if you're intersted in Yooper-land info.

Maybe I can get my Lake Huron to the UP ride going for next year and all meet at the locks.

                        just a suggestion.....

hey there exquized1....sounds like a plan and good idea about planning ahead.....work schedules and all......i might make it, but i would have 2 travel 360+ miles just to get 2 superior....anywho back 2 the suggestion....ya might wanna make sure ya can find gas stations about every 80 miles or so (specials) for everyone 2 fuel up.....rides can be really cool.....until your ride decides its time to learn how to push your "ride" to the next gas station....just a thought and good luck.....talk 2 ya later....ross

                        p.s. ya got mail!!!
