Remember it, Carroll Shelby just reproduced that one a few years ago. How about an older Shelby Mustang.

Yeah, those were the dayeez! I had a 64,65,73,&74 mustangs. My fav was the 73 fastback with the 351 cleveland with a 4 speed that I dropped in myself. The 3 speed just wasn't gettin it. Back when I was in high school a friend of mine stopped by and said, "man you gotta come with me and check out this shelby GT500 this guy just bought at an auction down in ohio." So we went over to see it. Here sittin in his garage was a 1968 Pearl white Shelby GT500 convertable with the blue stripes & roll cage! Apparently he had bought it for his son at an aution down in ohio and when he got it back he told me there was no way he was gonna give that monster to his son. He offered to sell it to me for $2000 CASH!!! Now remember this was back in the 70's when I was just a sophmore or junior in high school. So I ran home and begged my mom to get the car for me I would do anything to pay her back. She was thinking about it until she asked her mechanic at the local garage if he thought a 1968 mustang was worth $2000 and he told her that was way too high. She come home and told me that and I said, "BUT MA!!! YOU DIDN'T TELL HIM IT WAS A PEARL WHITE SHELBY GT 500 CONVERTABLE!!!! Needless to say I lost out in a once in a lifetime offer. But now that I think about it, I probably would have killed myself in that car if I had gotton it........LOL

Too bad John Britten died so young...who knows what innovations he would have come up with since those bikes.
