can't sleep
You said, "can't sleep
so many things i want to do to my bike....".
-----------------------------
You are exactly right!
Many, many things to do....but so little money, & so little time to accomplish them before, or by the time the really nice! ridin' weather arrives.....
My carbs are completely!, & absolutely disassembled..... they are spread all-over the workbench.
They have never been opened up before, that I know of, & I have already lost a little, "needle-jet" brass, retaining washer. Dammit! Sure hope I end up with enuf pieces to reassemble.....LOL
I only intended to give them the 3rd degree deep-cleaning, the first time out.
So.....just start in on 'em!Red Tarrents

Yeah, the only thing I want to see remaining after the carbs are reassembled is the sludge in the bottom of the solvent can, without any little thingies in it! LOL!
Beechfront, the weather in Nebraska is probably just right to find out why your carbs are leaking, and fix 'em before it turns nice. For me the most difficult part of the carb overhaul was the anxiety and reluctance in beginning the job.
After extensive procrastination, I arrived at the conclusion that I wasn't gonna get 'em cleaned, runnin', and ridin' by any other means (no goodwrench fairy...!), I just started in, and took 'em off.......
But, if y'do decide to take 'em off, and disassemble 'em, don't leave the job un-finished on the work bench. You will have a headache then fer sure! Parts get lost or damaged.
I don't intend to be preachy, but, as y'probably know, when any project that is started and shelved for a temporary period , that job often loses out to other projects that demand a more immediate priority. If y'intend to rejet, or any replace anthing, get the parts, and information to guide you in advance if y'can, so as to not lose your momentum in completing the job.
There is a lot of info, and advice available from this XS11 forum and from the AllXS11's group to help you thru most anything you you decide to tackle on your scoot.
Motor cop, although you didn't say exactly, has your scoot has been ridable, and well maintained?
Yeh, I do agree with ya. Weather-wise, I would rather get the work on my scoot completed asap now, so I can enjoy the briefly dry, warm weather that will arrive in a few months......
I don't mean to mislead anyone tho.......the weather here in this area of the PNW, (Vancouver, WA, & Portland, OR) IS rideable. Wet, and chilly, but still quite rideable nevertheless.Red Tarrents
