To me ICCL(I couldnt care less) if you had 7 posts...or 7 million...your help and contributions to all the members here ...especially myself has a value that goes beyond the # of posts you've made.You are a friend for life...I know there are no awards given out...however I would still suggest that TC is the Outstanding member of the year here at CH.11.
For those of you who somehow missed it...TC invited me down to his home back in Aug... we worked for 3 days in his garage in the stifling 90*+ weather to fix MadMax's woes.You cant put a price on that...I learned alot those 3 days and the bike is back..although it still defies being fixed completely but it is coming along.So TC You are the man...You are a class act all the way...Forever grateful to you...BNE

Hey Prom, and the rest of us,

I was beginning to wonder if you hadn't noticed? However, your memory is short, lest I refresh it with the link to the thread you started regarding my 6000th post, just a mere 8 months ago!

And yet, you have the courage to foolhardedly bring attention to this milestone in my membership once again! I will refer folks to view the above link for a maudlin view of my humble history with the site and XS11's!

A few stats:
6K post on Jan, 10th, 2008. 7k post today: Sept 5th, 2008.

That's only 239 days ago according to a Calender Calculator I found!!
That's an average of 4.18 posts a DAY, EVERY DAY!!
My total average is 3.11 posts a day, for 2252 days, 6.17 years since I joined in 7-7-2002.

As I have stated often in my replies, I'm no REAL mechanic or electrician, just a shadetree survivalist with a questionably stable mental obsession with our beloved XS11 and this wonderful website! I definitely profess to NOT KNOWING everything, make mistakes in suggestions as my CRS occasionally kicks in, but try to provide assistance or direction to the best of my abilities.

But as I have also stated, I am just a very small part of what makes this site so great. The MANY members with much more technical knowledge and experience on here who donate their time and personal resources to the folks coming here in need of assistance and guidance, are the true GURU's and heroes that this site was founded on and continues to thrive because of them!

I know at times my presence can be an annoyance, as well as a veritable Pain in the Neck! And it seems that Kharma has a way of getting even. This summer while the grandkids were visiting, I went with them to the beach(Va. Bch) to show them how to ride the waves on little inflateable rafts like I used to when I was a kid in Daytona Bch, Fla.. During one ride into shore my raft was uncontrollably steered into a kid near the shore, and I head butted him...not wanting to impact him with my hard shoulders and so I used my softest spot!
But..I felt a prominent "crunch" in my neck as I bumped into him! I had neck surgery about 4 years ago for a herniated cervical disc C6-C7, and it seems that my LONG NECK that I often stick out where it doesn't always belong has suffered another compression injury!

I have pain and numbness radiating down my left upper arm, and to my thumb when I tilt my head backwards, like when finishing off a cool one! I am scheduled for my neck MRI this coming Wednesday, and depending on what is found, I may get to have surgery AGAIN!?

Needless to say, this has put a damper on my pending fall ride to SUCHES, Ga.

I'm not posting this to garner any sympathy, just an explanation as to why I "might" not be on here as often, as active, or posting as much over the next several weeks/months!? Just as in the last few days, the membership has done a fine job in posting answers and solutions to the many posts, and so I haven't felt a need to HeadButt in!

I'm still doing the daily housekeeping chores....removing the 30-40 some odd SpamBot fake users that get registered EVERY DAY..., and planning other tech tips that I'm wanting to get put up, once the site makes the transition to the upgraded software that Wes/JW Sanders is working so diligently to get perfected before bringing it to fruition.

SO....in conclusion, I'm just happy to be here trying to help folks and keep this site in proper running order, and I just happen to chock up a few posts a day while I'm at it, it's just that they add up...kinda like those pennies in the jar!!

You're right T.C., you are only one cog in the wheel along with many other XS'ers who freely give of their time, knowledge, experience and whatever else one can so freely give to those, like myself, who are XStremely appreciative for all that you do.

However, (you knew there had to be an 'however' thrown in) while you may be only one of many cogs in the wheel, in my humble opinion - and I'm sure many others as well - while a cog you may be, you are indeed the chain that keeps the wheel in motion, day after day, week after week, month after month. Your knowledge of 'when, where, why and how' when it comes to XS'es is, as far as I can see, 2nd to no-one. 7000 posts... 7000 POSTS!!! That, my friend, says it all.

Congratulations and, a heartfelt 'Thank You' for you just being you.

(I hope that everything goes well with your neck. The fact that you have gone through this type of problem/injury before, though of little comfort, at least gives you a 'heads up' on what to expect.

Having gone through numerous spinal injuries and surgeries as well as continued chronic problems, I can sympathize with you and, sincerely wish you all the best in hopes of a speedy resolve with minimal discomfort and procedural remedy.)

Cogs

I am not so sure that TC is a cog as I think he is the power source of the cogs. Anyway, I certainly appreciate all the time and effort he has put into this board. I am convinced that I wouldn't be a XS owner without him.
