      Pure Luck!

But it looked like the bike was on autopilot...I dont know whats more amazing...the fact that the rider got back on or the fact that the bike never went down...pretty cool

The skilled motorcycle handling was the 2 guys behind him who made the corner and then weaved around him without anyone else going down or getting booted into the next county.

His bike staying up shows how basically stable a bike really is...it really wants to stay upright and it's usually the rider who brings it down.

Looked a bit staged to me. Notice how he didn't crash the bike, just let go?

                That's what I thought

The bike never went over either.
It's interesting though, but I don't think it's what it seems to be...

                  looked at it again

hmmm might have been staged..but right before the getoff the bike does seem to hit some irregularity on the track thus it looks like it was enough to catch the pilot off guard...

Also he was probably dragging his knee, he was pretty low to the ground at that point. It wouldn't be to hard to separate the bike from the rider if they hit an irregularity in that position.

                        they were racing

If they are really in competition then I doubt this would be staged...I mean would you want to stage something like that in the middle of a race?

'staging' that would be pretty difficult.

There was a guy some years ago who got hit by lightning while riding his humpty dumpty along one of your interstates. Popped him straight off the bike, fused the accelerator open, and they found the bike some 4-5 miles up the road where it had finally run off the side.

And it straightened itself out coming out of the turn like it had some extra wheels. Like this.
