    Nice looking ride,
So I take it you joined offshore. Brings back alot of memories. There isn't much that is more chaotic than the start of a race. Do they still have Leverage? It was a 40' prototype with a carbon fiber hull. We won a lot of races with that boat. Probably long gone by now though.

I remember one race we were carrying a little extra ballast. Every time we tacked someone had to go below and move the keg to the high side. It was a little extra work but well worth it after the race was over.

Sounds like you guys new how to have fun. Well, we don't have Leverage any more. Last year we sold Solution (Farr40) and Alchemy (Andrews 77). Now we are currently using Fastlane (J-29), Hypnose (J-35), Diana (Farr 40), Elan (Farr 395), Defiance (66' maxi) and the new addition GR (90' maxi on steroids) They sent me to Miami for worlds last year on a borrowed Farr 40 Nimbus Blue. Most of the regattas we sail in on the weekends are sponsored by Mount Gay so you can figure how we ballast ourselves. There's nothing like evenings spent at Manhasset bay YC and the others.
At worlds last year I saw a 5 boat pile up at the starting line. There's nothing more scary than when your skipper yells GET YOUR LEGS UP and the next thing you know there's railings snapping, fiberglass crunching, and carbon fiber everywhere.

Our Coast Guard cutter worked the security zones for the America's Cup races back in '83 at Newport, RI.

He never mentioned who his dad was prior to those races but a guy who's bunk was across from mine was Mike Conner, Dennis Conner's son.

I sort of remember Manhasset Bay YC. Most of them are sort of fuzzy alcohol soaked memories. Did you do Block Island race week? That was always a good time.

                    I wish...
Coaches saw the photos today. They were not too "happy." Imagine standing on a little carbon fiber stick being held up at one end by a rocking sailboat mast and the other side by a steel cable. Sometimes they don't look that high but just wait till you get up there.
