  • Let the fun begin

Well, I am gonna do my winter teardown before winter. I've been struggling with a leak at the headgasket in the front chain galley area and I'm sick of it.

I have the other motor ready and I'm just waiting for the new head gasket so I figured I will start Friday to tear the other one out of the bike and get the head and jugs off it, get them cleaned up and on the other engine ready for the head gasket. The jugs on the original Pathfinder engine had weak compression readings in the center cylinders, and this engine good compression, but has other issues, so I thought I would take this set of jugs and pistons and put them on the Pathfinder bottom end.

I have many other things I want to do during the winter teardown, but since it is the best riding time of the year, I'm only gong to do those things that I can do now. The painting and quick release bags will have to wait.

After I get the Pathfinder back together I may have to take a fall vacation and check out the fall colors in Colorado or someplace similar.
