Watching that makes me sick to my stomach.

      Hi Tim,
what turns my stomach is watching a person jump out of fully functional aircraft in the hope that a bedsheet & string contraption will correctly deploy out of his backpack to safely lower him to the ground.
The big laugh? He's wearing a safety helmet.

I've jumped out of perfectly good aircraft and I think the risk is a lot less than what these riders taking. I have a back up parachute should something go wrong. these guy's have no thought of safety or self preservation what so ever!

        Just my opinion of course.

            Jumping

My dad would be one of them. He served in Germany from 56-58 in the 11th Airborne. That was when the troops were called Russian speedbumps. He loved jumping and riding motorcycles. I miss him.

If they were pros ... they would be wearing helmets. Their hot-dogs ... and they look real good until they go down and people get crippled up for life or die. They are part of why insurance is sooo costly and bikers have difficulty getting the respect we deserve ... when we deserve it..

We all take risks everyday. Some more than others. If we didn't, we wouldn't get nowhere.

                    Hi Rover,
you seem to be mis-reading my comment.
I made no claim & do not think that military parachutists are insane risk takers. They may indeed take joy in the experience and good luck and safe landings to them all.
It's that my morbid fear of heights makes me sick to watch them in action.
As to safety helmets, if both of a skydivers chutes fail to deploy and he augers head first into the ground at a falling person's terminal velocity of ~127mph, ain't no helmet gonna save him.

GhostRider is a part of the streetfighter world, and has a number of DVD's of him going nuts in Europe. I believe he was the first to do the Paris ring road at 300+ on a turbo'd Busa.

That GSXR has been streetfightered, and stunting/hooning is what streetfighters are supposed to be all about.

I'm currently streetfightering my FJ11, and have to admit that I ride like a nutter whenever I can, so I'm in no position to criticise. Except for the pillion, that's just stupid, how can you stunt properly with such a dead weight on your bike?

Are there many FJ owners on this site?

While the stunt itself is pretty cool and apparently well executed... the choice of venue and the lack of protective gear is certainly questionable...

I thought the stunt was pretty impressive, even more so with a passenger on. I didn't it was safe. Some people think anyone that gets on a two wheeled vehicle is crazy. Those that ride the freeways of the big city's....now that's insane!

A guy just graduated from his fear of heights class, put on a tux and went on the roof of his apartment building. Looking over the edge he commented to himself...."all dressed up and no ver to go"

Back to the stunt..... there's no excuse to endanger lives and that's what's transpiring when someone stunts on public roads, too many variables. I have nothing against stunting, just do it in a closed venue and don't glamorize it for the impressionables.
