local bike nite...

hey there folks...FINALLY got SWMBO on the bike and took her 2 the local bike nite at the trade center.....1000+ harleys and some dude comes outta the crowd and says "so, you are the xs11 guy....."....also met a friend i work with and his SWMBO.....nice folks, but sorry they looked like harley billboards.....was wondering if my friend was harley rite down 2 his boxers....hehehehehe....but was amazed at the number of folks that looked at the "rebel devil" and just stopped....."i used to own one of those!!"........1000+ harleys and i still took my respect away with pride......btw, SWMBO is amazed at the respect we get with the "rebel devil"...ross

I took SWMBO to Sonic last night for a soda. Every Friday night is classic car night there, and lots of riders show up with their dressed up V-twins. My 81 Special isn't in bad shape, but it isn't in mint shape either. For some reason, it did garner quite a bit of respect. I got a couple compliments from the old geezer on a goldwing, the harley guys and suprisingly the bullet bike kids.

XS11s just have the classic look to them I guess.

Cruising

Ive been up at the Sturgis rally here almost every day. my 79 Special Dresser is in very good shape its amazing how a 30 yo bike will atrract so many people. ive put over 1700 miles on her doing Poker runs in the last 2 weeks. and have had more people comment about her than most bikes ive owned and trustme there are 100K trailer queens up there.
SWMBO loves it she said its one of the most comfortable bikes she has even been on. Only problem while riding was this shard pain in my ribs when i ws playing with a tricked out V Rob i think she was sticking her keys into me lOL she was finetill she peaked over and saw the speedo approaching 130 .LIke teh Guy at teh harley Demo rides im not old enough to own when i still like t ride fast LOL But i did see a good amount of 11"s up there from 78 Standard to 82 Xj's. and yes il post Pics.
