  • West coast rally sites

Hi Big Ed,,,,,,,it would be nice to have a Tahoe rally, but better yet have one on the coast. Its cooler and different kind of scenery. Central or northern California is great country and roads. There's a couple of KOA's on the coast near your area that could ease any big planning. Seems like most people camped or got the Cabins. If there is interest I could host a South California Rally. I live in North S.Diego. Only problem is its a long way for a lot of the members to ride to. So let us know what works for the masses. The beaches are great but the riding is better away from the city, typical rush hour madness. I think there would be a good turnout for a central coast rally for a different riding and scenery for the inlanders. I know LoHo mentioned a coastal rally, ride at the Yosemite rally.
Dick's bike looks super, what is the price?
So, anyway, I have three riders down for a central coast getogether from this area. Best time for us is any long vacation period since the ride up is time consuming. Spring break, early summer, etc......Hope Diver Ray gets his xs going,,,,regards, Mike in Sun Diego

    Mike,
I'll see what Ed and I can do. I'm now in a cage, as "daily ride" locked up the transmission on the way home from Yosemite! I am now trying to pull the engine down, and hope to have the money for pistons and the rest of the "rebuild" next week.
That wasn't all the problems I've had, as I'm using my new computer to write this, as the seven year old CPU decided to die just before I left town on a business trip! As long as the car keeps running, I'm good for a little while.
We have talked about a "Central Coast" ralley this year, so I think I'll try and have Ed get one together. I may be in a car part of the time, but I WILL be in a bad mood from P.M.S.!!!

      Need to focus

Thanks for post/interest, but someone suggested that this discussion should be conducted on the "Rallies" page. I've started a thread there for the Central Coast Rally. I think we need to get this conversation going on one thread. Check out "Central Coast Rally" on the "Rally/NA" page under "Southwest." I guess "The West" dosn't rate its own catigory!"
E.Liberty (Look for "handle" change soon!)
Old bikers never die, they're just out of sight!

My recently re-built, hopped up '79 Special caught fire and burned everything from the top of the engine up: gas tank, wiring, seat, & melted my windshield all over the front of the bike. Just bought a 1980 Special that has been non oped for 9 years. My Skoot will rise from the ashes and be re named "The Phoenix!"
      I've been riding since 1959.

        BUMP!!
OK all, read the rally site, and put in for Labor Day Weekend!!
Ed is putting together a "Central Coast" rally this year instead of Tahoe. We need a count, so we can plan. There is a list of places to stay, and the KOA is close to my house, about 25 minutes from Ed's place.
The planned ride will take us from the BIG redwood trees to the ocean with lunch at THE motorcycle stop.
It will be a "view" type run, and NOT a speed run. Should be about eight hours total on Sunday, but not that many miles.
