  • Question for members and Mods about posting ebay auction pointers

Is it permitted to post a link or pointer here to my ebay auctions if I am selling XS/ XJ stuff?

How about pointers to XS/XJ ebay auctions that are not mine but may not be seen due to poorly worded or misspelled auction descriptions? I sometimes see some excellent deals but I can't buy everything...

    opinions?
    thx,
    Andy

This subject sort of came up a couple of weeks ago...

a lot of links were being posted here to E-bay and Craigslist... It was pointed out that while a thread or two here is acceptable... it was getting to be a bit of a problem and it was suggested that those be posted in the "parts for sale" and "bikes for sale" forums...
Maybe post everything you have there... with a link to those posts here?

I tend to agree with WildKat... (she slaps me if I don't)

Saves clutter on the forum "lounge" page and puts your announcement in the area where people looking for parts should be looking.
The exception would be.... pointing out someone else's E Bay page... where the seller is ridiculously wrong, the bike/part is extremely over-priced.. or the ad is just generally a good target for ridicule and mockery.

      Then again...
Not everyone is actively looking to buy stuff... but if something is mentioned and it cathes their eye... they'll snap it up. This is a good thing to have, then.
Place a detailed post in the "for sale" area... and then just a quick mention of in the forum.
Should be Ok... as long as things don't get out of hand.

I should have been more specific when I said post a link "here" for my auctions. What I meant was in the parts for sale area.

I just wanted to know if it was against the rules or considered bad form.
I don't plan on making a lot of postings so hopefully it won't bother anyone.

        thanks,
        Andy

          It only bothers me...

when I get outbid... or forget the auction is about to end and lose out on a Midnight fender for $10.50...

People have posted quite a few links to E-bay and Craigslist there... It doesn't seem to bother anyone...

Ahem... yeah... it doesn't work with my kids... I don't think it will work with you...
