  • Dragons Tail

My brother, his girlfriend and I have been on a Moto trip for several weeks now, and I feel like posting an update.

We made it to Asheville. We plan to do Dragon's Tail tomorrow morning. Then the Foothills Parkway, and the Blue Rudge Parkway.

We hope to have pictures up later this week at http://www.motohed.net where we are documenting our trip.

After that we are heading to DC, NYC, and Niagra Falls before we head back to Wisconsin by August 9th. Does anybody have any scenic routes we should check out?

Yep the roads that I wouldn't want to miss are hwy#2 in Ma. Highway 9 in VT takes you through the 100 mile view then 30 to hwy 100. I would then take 125 across the green mountains. Take 116 to Burlington take the ferry across Lake Champlain $7.00 for a one hour ferry ride into the Adirondacs. Ride up whiteface mountain. Take 30 and 28 south to Utica and back on the interstate to the falls. Just got back from doing that ride plus some. Wish I was still there.

Well we ran the dragon today. Unfortunately I wasn't able to see what the xs could do untill the last couple of miles as my brother was leading with his new ride, '07 v-star 1300 touring, and couldn't lean as far into the curves.

It was the best winding road I have ever, and probably will ever ride. I would recommend it to anyone riding near the Great Smokey Mountain national park.

Shoulda turned around and gone back to do them properly. I once found a stretch of about 7 's' bends and spent 3/4 hour there just going back and forth 'cos it was so much fun - swmbo wasn't happy 'cos i was late for dinner.

I'm with you I like to ride 100 in VT every year as well as the roads getting there. But the run from my house to the cottage is close to home and almost as good just no mountains and I do love the mountains.

My wife and I just got back from a 2,000 mile rode trip to the http://www.tailofthedragon.com/ and the http://www.cherohala.com/ Skyway. No problems, 6 days and 5 nights. This is the longest trip we've ever been on. The bike handled great on the curves even with it being overloaded.
