  • Harleys

Don't get me wrong, I love my HD's, I have owned two of them for many years. But The butt hole down the street is always revving his motor and blasting down the street like an as$ thinking he is bad with a bad back fire,, either an exhaust or intake leak. I've been wanting to talk to him about his attempts to make his Harely go faster So after about two months of this I got on the ole XS and did a hole shot in front of his house.
Well the bottom line is I am thinking about going down to his house (armed of course) and schooling his butt about Harely's.

I am almost tempted to run him title for title. When I mentioned this to the ole lady she almost fainted.
I should turn this into a poll
    54
    Should I ingore him
    37.04%
    20
    Teach the boy about Harelys
    5.56%
    3
Beat his as* and take his bike
    33.33%
    18
Go down to the drag stip and beat him proper
    24.07%
    13

    The poll is expired.

If I knew I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself..

He won't learn anything from it anyway.
It has nothing to do with the bike.

Never heard it put quite like that before...

I like the drag strip idea... for pinks.... take it home... part it out... makes you happy... the rest of the street happy... and several harley owners around the world who are looking for the parts...
The only one who wouldn't be happy is him... and it doesn't sound like he's trying to influence people... in a good way, anyway...

Take a stroll down the street and race him for pinks.

Park the Harley in your front yard and plant flowers around it and the neighbors will love you forever!

Being the non-confrontational type that I am (*Cough..) I personally would have to go down there and say, "I don't know if you care or not, but the LOUD only sounds cool to you. Everyone else seriously thinks your an azz when you do it and NOBODY thinks that bike is fast."

Then the chest would puff out and he'd HAVE to race you since you know... you have an almost 30 year old POS metric bike from the 70's/early 80's. He would just have to prove that "American" muscle surely beats a crappy jap bike! lol

He won't race for pinks, I guarantee... but afterwards, you could ask him to please keep it down until that thing actually IS fast and un-annoying?

I had a Buell Lightning before my XS and honestly, I think the XS is just about as fast! I think it's pretty darn good considering it weights 200 lbs more. Oh and the other day some lesbian kept pulling up next to me at the light on a Hurley, I had to take off and leave her at the intersection! Tell him Hurleys are a dyke bike! I taught a lesbian at work how to ride on a Buell Blast once.

Why isn't hating Harleys the same as hating "Jap Crap"?

I agree that there are a-holes who buy a semi-custom HD and make it loud and uncomfortable in order to look badass, but they were a-holes before they bought the bike. Harleys have an appeal, just as crotch rockets or dirt bikes have an appeal. I know the engineering is ancient and power band and blah blah blah, but if putting someone down to feel better is wrong, how is this bias okay?

I love my XS11 and ride it daily, now that gas is close to $5 a gallon. But I know other guys who ride HDs and get 45 mpg. I have considered a Ninja 250 as a commuter bike: 70+mpg and it goes over 100mph. And if the XS is the only bike to own, why are half the guys on here just trying to get theirs to run, while the other half try to fit a chain drive, bigger stator, inverted forks, a bigger gas tank, or a Wiseco kit on theirs?

Besides, studies have shown that 96% of all the Harleys built since 1970 are still on the road. The rest made it home....

I used to want a Harley, and I do think they can be dependable commuters. But they have become the bike of choice for code pink and other lesbian clubs. So I am now slowly backing away.
