The humidex here today was around 40C. Not to hot to ride but close. Always surprises me that our air cooled engines can work as well as they do when it is that hot.

My concern with the summer heat...I tend to ride to the East (beaches) or maybe to the North (mountains) here in New Hampshire. All the afternoon thunderstorms come from the SW or West. When I'm along the coast and see the dark clouds approaching, it's usually too late for me to make it home as those storms I'm seeing are already over where I live.
I'd just find a place to hang out but when I ride, I'm on "dog bladder time" in other words, gotta get home to let my dog out after so many hours.

Actually i'd prefer an air cooled motor in the summer...I 've become a fan of cooler weather riding...so I tend to put more milles on during the Spring,Fall and even Winter.I used to be the opposite but then my physiology changed and now I sweat in 50*F weather!Last edited by madmax-im; 07-09-2008, 10:35 AM.1980 XS650G Special-Two
