      AC/DC
      The Police
      The Clash
      Elvis Costello

In that order, in fact AC/DC is one of the gretest bands of all time.

      Highway to Hall!
Elektra's AC/DC Inducted Into Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame

New York, NY -- The Elektra Entertainment Group is honored to announce that one of the greatest rock bands of all time, AC/DC, has been inducted into the 2003 class of the Rock N' Roll Hall Of Fame. The legendary Australian band currently reigns as the fifth highest certified band in music history, (representing actual units in excess of 85 million albums sold in the United States).

But for their millions of fans, the most memorable AC/DC moments have come from the band's riotous, ear splitting performances, which in the past 30 years have seen legendary guitarist/frontman Angus Young, and the hardest rocking band in history, shred up concert halls all over the world. Their rock masterpieces include "You Shook Me All Night Long," "Highway To Hell," "Back In Black," and more recently "Stiff Upper Lip." As one critic so aptly put it: "One of life's truths: AC/DC rocks."

Said Sylvia Rhone, Chairman/CEO of Elektra: "This has been a long overdue honor for a band that is so important to the history of rock and the legacy of Elektra. AC/DC is rock n' roll."

With more than 20 releases in their historic career, and boasting one of the best selling catalogues in music history, AC/DC has recently seen more than 15 titles awarded gold, platinum, and multi-platinum certification by the RIAA. The band has also received the rare and prestigious RIAA Diamond Award for sales of 10 million copies of "Back In Black."

          Man, you missed out!

The Police are my hands down all time favorite band, however... my favorite album of all time is most definitely The Clash's London Calling...

If you missed the induction special on Vh1... you should catch a rerun, as the police played live together for the first time in 17 years... they, unfortunately, did Roxanne and Every Breath You take. A good performance overall, but it seems that Stewart Copeland (drums) was the only one that put any heart into it.

I've always felt Rock and Roll died when those four mops got off the plane in the U.S.
My vote would go for Bill Medley, Bobby Hatfield, aka The Righteous Brothers,
Floyd Cramer, pianist for Elvis Presley
and Steve Douglas, sax player in Bob Dylan's band.
            Sidecarmikel
            aka Mike Laubenstein
            Lake Tainter, Wisconsin

1980 XS1100 soon to have sidecar
            1980 XS850/Dnepr sidecar
1989 TransAlp/ no sidecar yet, but I know where there's an Equalean!

It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

ROCK THE CASBAH! (Sheriff don't like it)

The Clash all the way! The best rock/punk band ever. And also 'Big Audio Dynamite', which is basically The Clash with new members and new name. The Clash has some of the best 'riding' music.

The Police are cool, but can't get into them when riding as much.

AC/DC very good riding material. True rock and roll there.

And Elvis? I like Elvis Costello's music but never considered it cruising material.

The very best music to cruise to is ZZTop. They are not up for the HOF (YET) but should be.

                Whatever you listen to...

ZZ Top is an all time favorite....if we are only concidering the first 6 albums. True genius. All the rest are sell outs, same music just change the words to make money. Sucks. Oh well at least I have a quality 6 pack to enjoy.....

To reply to your question using the provided answer possibilities: AC/DC.
'Don't know about the H.O.F., but what about Aerosmith, Supertramp or Boston? They also make for some good "crusin' music" [among the older groups/bands].
