    And

Then there was the Burma Shave signs. Little bits of funny poetry along the roadside. I can't remember any right now....

      Burma Shave ads

There is a restaurant south of Fort Wayne IN, I think it's in Decatur, it's called "Back 40 Junction" they have a series of signs up on US27 that are set up in the format of a Burma Shave ad, couldn't tell you what the say, but gives me a chuckle every time I pass through there. have a nice day and ride safe

Is this the kind of thing you are thinking of?

Kiltie Drive-in - Hwy 16 in Oconomowoc, WI
          Awful and expensive burgers
          High School girls sans skates

Erin Motel & Restaurant - Hwy 83 in Erin WI
Never actually been inside, but Erin is one of my favorite "towns" to ride in. Very green and plenty curvy Towns is in quotes as I only know of 3 business in the town and none of them are next to each other. There is this hotel, a bar (might not be in Erin) and a gas station.

Both are 10 - 15 minutes from my house, but in opposite directions.
