  • K&l Kits!

Just thought I'd let you all know something I found out. Some of you or all of you may already know.

Well we all know about how bad K&L kits are for the 11. Well I was working on a friends xs850. Rebuilding his carbs for him. Was looking for a kit. Ran across Motorcyclescarbs.com. Talked to a Robert there. Asking him who made their kit's. When he said K&L I was like Oh!. He had asked me what troubles I was having and so I told him about the 11 and the troubles we had with K&L kits. Now I don't know if it's true but he said the Pilot Jets were wrong it the kits for the 11. I know that we all knew that but I thought you all here would like to hear it for yourselfs.

Now maybe the new K&L kits are fixed.

I bought a set of K&L for this xs850 I'm working on as he said the jets in those kit's are fine. I guess I'll find out.

Again I thought you all would like to know.

I think the issue has been fixed. I got some K&L kits on ebay recently and I thought the pilots were wrong but it turned out the PO had drilled out the stock pilots and thats why they were different. So no real reason to avoid K&L.

I've had good luck with K&L kits also. Part # 18-2581 for the 79 carb.

Well I'm glad to hear that they have fixed their kits. The last set I bought gave me nothing but troubles. Thats why I was asking as I didn't want to go thru that again. I have been working on this 850 Triple and finding jets for this thing has been a challenge. K&L were ther only ones to have them in their kit's.

Thanks for the part number red bandit. I'll keep that number when I go to order a set when I get into again.
