  • XS/XJ1100 Membership Card

OK just brainstorming on the thread abt creating a RAN list for our members who travel across country and maybe in need of assitance of any kind...got me to thinking abt an XS/XJ1100 membership ID card.If all members had one then it could be used to help introduce yourself as a legitimate forum member...if you've never met them before.
We could use the same XS/XJ1100 logos we use now in Black and Gold.....what do you all think ???

I like the Idea of a membership card. I do wonder what would be the criteria needed to decide who gets a card. If someone up to no-good knows about the RAN list and wanted to make use of it all he or she would have to do is join up. I dont exactly remember all the info I had to provide to join but it seems to me that pretty much anything could be made up other than the email address. There would have to be some sort of confirmation of a members identity before giving cards to identify him as a legitimate member. Also it could be numbered or something so the person being called for assistance could look it up for verification. I like the idea of the list and will gladly participate but we must always be aware of people who are not trustworthy.

Anyone who is a registered member could get one...as to the likelihood that someperson is questionable....in the discussions I've had on the other forum site...while there is a risk...it is a small one and the likelihood is that 99% of the time the contact is legit.

I totally agree that 99% of the people would be legit. I have never met anyone from this forum but I have no doubt they are good solid folk who I can trust. I was only thinking about the possibility of some nogoodnik taking advantage of the situation. At any given time there are as many guests online as members sometimes even more. Hopefully they will join in the fun. In this age of electronic info and Identity thefts etc, I feel that it would be a good idea to have something simple to verify the cardmembers ID. It would not have to be complicated. Something simple, like once the card is mailed to the address of the member he would have to register that card online or by email. That would mean that the forum topdogs would know the mailing address of every member. It would also verify that he was giving true info when asking for a card. I also think the more secure members feel, the more they will participate in a RAN list. I would be proud to carry a card that identifies me as a member of this forum. JAT

          Charge a dollar..

and we have to pay by credit card. At least then a members card details would be on file.

              Just a thought...or a laugh

              Yep XSives need ID's...
and we put Prom in charge of checking that your papers are in order.

              I can see it now.
Prom (wearing his kick A$$ boots and black leathers) upon his stealth VESPA riding up on an unsuspecting XSive with TC as his back up.
