  • Iron Butt ride

Left Westerville Ohio at 5:30 am Thursday June 12th, returned at 3:30am on Friday June 13th. 1142 miles total. I just need to send in paperwork to get certified. I will post a complete ride report on the Ride Ohio site and place a link here. Pretty cool that it was done on my 30year old XS11

Not knowing you, or your physical limitations, I have to agree that can be a factor.

congrats. how did you manage the aches and pains along the way?
                was it all highway miles?

First bike was an: 1978 XS1100
                Second bike is an FJR1300.
                Now I'm restoring a '79 XS1100.

I learned along time ago that some Advil or whatever taken before you start to ache usually keeps you from aching. The only non freeway miles were the little bit of US35 in W VA.

                      Certified?

Maybe I'm just being slow today, but what certification are you talking about? Because if riding over 1000 miles straight is something to get recognized for, I'm all set as well.

                        Go to www.ironbutt.com

It takes a bit of proof, but all the info is there.

Stock but with a new cover. I had ordered a gel pad but it did not get here in time so used an old bath towell to help. The only real problem I had was with an old neck issue. I though it might act up so I brought along a 3/4 coverage helmet that was a lot lighter. I switched to it about 600 or 700 miles into the ride.
