Whenever I do a dumb thing I call it a Delbert as that is my real first name. Well, today I did a Delbert again (3rd one this week). I got gas at 87 miles. I then divided 87 by 3.79 and got only 22.9 MPG. My wife said that is terrible gas mileage on the 78XS 1100E. She than said how many gallon on the pump meter; she said 2.1. Then I got the right MPG of over 41. If you do something like this, call it a Delbert.

My dad and I are both a little scatter-brained. So, we refer to it as pulling a Cahill, or a Cahill move.

i made 140 miles on my last tank of gas........not too sure if that is accurate or not since i didnt remember the last time i had put gas in if i reset the odometer. but this time i am watching it closely and get my MPG. i remember when i first got the bike i would make it to 86 miles or so before i had to refuel, but that was with one cylnder running on pure oil and some bad seating in the valves....so no it should be a new animal...... i will go and ride it the rest of the tank to figure up a true number.
