    painting helmet

    Howdy out there fellas,
My wife is a little on the artistic side and she just can't stand wearing that ugly white helmet I got her. After a small brush with a big rig several years ago I'll NEVER ride without one again, nor let my passenger ride without one. I know you're not supposed to paint one, but? What do you guys think? Maybe there is a certain kind of paint you can use without hurting the helmet.
    Jason.

    Jason,
There should be nothing wrong with painting your helmet. I have seen lots of custom painted helmets.
Here is a web site that gives you a little info on how to paint a helmet. Not extensive but it gives you an idea of how to go about it.

Glad to hear you wear a helmet. I'm a big believer in wearing them always. I started out in dirt bike riding and have thanked God many times for having the helmet on when I took the dive.

I had one custom painted last year....a guy on another list did it for me and it turned out fantastic! He paints them for race car drivers and such...it is all he does now. This was a new never worn white RF800 when I sent it to him. Usually he did not do cartoons but I sent him some ideas of what I wanted and since this one he has done several other cartoon ones....
