    Possibly an 11
    and
    An XJ11

Plus, what the heck is this thing

Well Jessy, that first pic looks like an XS 850.

The second looks like a good project for someone close to start.

And the last one is called an XV920R. It doesn't really have a name, they only sold here for 2 years. Could be considered a Virago but with chain drive.

You're surrounded? Two of these are practicly in my backyard!

I did see a sweet red XJ1100 sitting in the employee parking lot of a local car dealer last week. Unfourtunatly I didn't have time to track down the owner.

I saw a 920 for sale on CL around my area once and asked about it in the "Other Bikes" thread. Supposedly it's a model that was only sold in Europe.

The XV 920 was sold here. Almost bought one instead of my 650Seca. It used the same engine as the 920 Virago but it had an enclosed chain instead of shaft. It handeled pretty well. lots of tourque from the engine.

Is that XJ in Redding, California? Anyone in the area who could look at it for me...would like to get another XJ. I'm getting pretty good at transmission work

                Jerry,
Reading the add, I think it may just need a new drive shaft and final drive....

I think that first one is a 750. The 850 saw some changes to the overall look including the frame covers.

                    Hey Jerry,

I'm in Red Bluff about 20 miles south of Redding. I am up there often for work and church and stuff so I could look at if for you. PM me if you want some eyes on it.

That was my thought as well. Since I have a 750/850 FD in my garage waiting to be installed on my XJ, the one I just bent the valves on, I would put it on this XJ and have a running bike in a couple hours or less.

Course, cost of gas for the Jeep pulling a trailer to Redding and back would add some cost!

If Tomatao can look at it for you, and it looks OK, you may be able to fly out, replace the parts in Red Bluff, and ride home! JAT

I got an email from the guy this morning saying it was sold. He was kind of an @$$ in his email.

There were two models of the XV920. European and North American.

The NA one looked similar to the 750, but had an LCD dash. It came with shaft drive for the '82 model year only.

The one in the picture looks like the European version, with the larger tank.

Incidentally the '82 models 750 and 920 engines were interchangable, as that was the only year the 920 was set up for shaft.
Nice day, if it doesn't rain...
