Checked mine accurately about a month ago right after Spring tune up. 41 mpg ..... nekkid.

Bike was naked, not me. Me naked on my bike....not a picture anyone would want etched into their mind.

Just did run today @ 70mph, 35.4mpg (Imperial) To me that's still low. It's only about 29mpg (US).

However, that's the best I've been able to do.

            27 MPG

            Hi all
I always watch my MPG, last year I was getting around 17 to 20 MPG, Randy helped me with my sticky brakes and I now am getting 27MPG. Better but still needs improvement.
The engine idles nicely at around 1000rpm but I think I will need to tune the carbs in a little better.

Heck since the other day ive decided not to figure gas mileage as miles pergallon.Used to. Actually figured it to low mid 30's. Depends on my hoodlum state of mind that day.Throttle problem. And I can say 3rd gear!!! After 28 years Im still in love with the same beast. hoo haa!!
Any way now I rate my gas mileage by dollars per tank full.I filled up the other day----20 bucks!!! I remember my first tankful probably ran me $6.50.If you would have told me that Id pay 20 bucks for a tankful in 79 Id have have told you ,you were nutz and mocked you with contemptable laughter. And the gas today sucks. All that aside I do need the fuel to ride. Gimme gimme gimme-- I got that urge!!

                    When I'm on E...

My gas guage goes to E at around 150 mi when I have to go to reserve and then I get around 35 mi more before completely empty. When it's empty I have put in 5.8 gal. Works out to be around 33 mpg.

Mason, Your too small!! I know how "large" you are, and the bike does NOT need to work that hard. I ALSO KNOW what you do to the "speed limit"!! THAT is the reason for your MPG figures!

XJ1100. No final drive mod (yet). Usually ride a little above the speed limit. Averaging 36-28mpg (US). I'm quite happy with that!

                              I've seen

33 mpg, but mostly it's 30 because I like to go fast. I tried going slower, speed limit, for a whole tank and got 33 mpg. Since my speedo is 5 mph fast the real mileage is really somewhat less. I have the 750 final, but it didn't change my mileage at all. I would love to get 42 like Ray.
