    Miles on your XS

    I noticed my odometer today and realized I just turned 44K miles on my 79 Special before having to stop for the winter. How many miles do you have on yours?

    Never over-powered…just under controlled.

                          I''ve got 40K on my 80XS special, but only 11K showing on my new 140mph speed-o. I put 6K of that on last year. I put 30K on my 79 special that I had bought new, and sold in '85 like a fool. Can't see how I'll ever be without one again.

                              21k on a beautiful 80g full dress previously enjoyed by a 71 yo man that bought it new in Missouri. He graciously sold me the bike this past Saturday.

                                  I've got about 20k on my $50 '78E Standard. When I bought it, I managed to fit most of it in the back of the mini van... one box at a time. Who knows, someday I might get all the pieces put back together.

                                      40,000 when I bought it at the end of this summer. have only put about 750 miles on it because of this lousy stinking snow. Oh, by the way, I hate winter and snow if you havn't guessed.

                                          Right around 53k when the odometer stopped working, I'm sure its a little over 60k now. I'm afraid it needs new main bearings though, its a noisy motor Oh well, I plan on really givin it a work over, whenever I get to it!

                                              I'll be in your area in late May. About ten of us will be riding from St. Joe to Mountain Home, Arkansas and back. I'll be the only one on an XS, but it should be a good time anyway. Might have to ride by the Home Depot and wave.

                                                  Wife and I get to Mountain Home every once in a while.
                                                  If you all get close to the Home Depot you might as well stop
                                                  and visit. Would love to have the company. We live less than two
                                                  miles from US 60 and US 65 in Springfield.

                                                      My '79 Standard had 19K+ miles when I bought it three years ago. 24K+ on it now. Most of my miles have been put on going to and from XS rallies.

                                                          My '79 standard is at 84,000 (klms) so that's around 52,000 miles I think.
