  • I'm finally a College Grad!!!!

Well after taking classes off and on since I was 21 yrs old, I have finally graduated! About 2 yrs ago I decided (ok my wife decided) that I would go full time and knock this out! It was tough working full time and taking 15 hrs a semester but last Saturday made it all worth while. I graduated with my Bachelors in Finance from the University of Central Oklahoma...WooHoo!

However, no rest for the weary......my wife is scheduled to be induced for the birth of our first child (a little girl) this coming Wednesday! Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers that everything goes smoothly.

    Thanks,
    Scott

Congrats on bothachievements!!! A degree is what you get after a lot of hard work, hard work is what you get after having a child. (They're both well worth the effort)

Congratulations on both happy occasions, I have not had the time or scratch to consider going back to school. especially since I have 3 kids in some kind of post high school education, not to mention a 4th that will graduate in just over a year. and my oldest just made me a grandfather. yes, life is busy in my house as I also have a six year old running around the house, ans yes, I will have a senior in high school and a first grader in the house at the same time. the truly weird part is that I'm really not that old as yet...41, there are days it just seems like it. anyway, well done on the graduation and cherish that little one coming, they do make life worth living. have a nice day and ride safe.

              "Da-Bubble... this is great news."

Congratulations on the degree and the upcoming birth of your first child.

Some people say that today, a college degree isn't worth wiping your a$$ with.
As you will shortly be doing a lot of a$$ wiping... please resist the temptation to see if that's true, or not.

                Congratulations

I just graduated from FSU with a degree in English Secondary Education. What a great feeling! The job search for me is going very slow. Not really a position within 200 miles of my home. O'll well, factory work will do until then.

Well, congratulations on the degree and the baby. As John Wayne would say, "Well Done."

                  Hi Scott,
perseverance (or constant domestic urging) pays off. Well done that Grad!
Far more important than a mere degree is your approaching parenthood, congratulations and best wishes to you and to your wife and child. Here is the new parents secret, "Happiness is three hours sleep."

Parenthood is the source of the greatest joy and simultaneously the most frustrating experience anyone has ever willing entered into. Someone said earlier that the first month is really rough. I disagree. For me it's been 23 years and counting.

My sons are 20 and 23. In earlier years I'd worry what they'd do to my stuff. Now I worry about what they'll do to themselves. I remember what it's like to be young. I remember some of it, anyway.

Congrats, bro. This ain't going to be easy, but remember, at those times when you wonder what you were thinking (or not) when your daughter was conceived - It will all be worth it.

Oh, cool degree too. I've got one of those. So does my eldest son, as of about three weeks ago. A college degree today is what a high school diploma was for my father and an eighth grade education was for my grandfather. Gotta have it.

Sounds like you had a lot of work, and a lot of "play". Hope the degree pays off for your financial needs. The new baby will surely fill a lot of non-tangible needs. (yet maybe take a little bit of your finances) Congratulations on both achievements

Bubble, Congrats on both counts. Here's hoping you have one of those babies who gets out of the nocturnal phase early, you learn to appreciate your sleep.

Gallagher has an interesting take on kids. Do you know why God made kids cute? So you don't kill em!! Seriously, love them and guide them and trust them to do the right thing based on all the love and attention (including the light paddle on the ass when necessary) and all will be well.
