  • It's a first.....

Today while enjoying some cool beach air on the Pathfinder I had a need to buy fuel. Best price I could find there was $3.939/gal. It was the first time it took more than $20 to fill up... Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Even the Specials will be hurting. At over $4 per gallon we'll be looking at $14+ per full tank.

I'm feeling your pain, I still have not been able to find the time to de-winterize my ride. unfortunately, this means I'm still driving my full sized GMC everywhere I go. from the looks of it I'll not be able to tinker with it for some time...at least a few weeks as I am off work with a minor injury right at the moment. for the curious, I tripped, fell and hurt my left knee; which in turn swelled up to approximately twice it's normal size. had to make a trip to the ER and am subsequently off for at least the next two weeks. the good news is that I was @ work when I tripped so the treatment incurred @ the ER will be covered by workers compensation. Don't really know why I went off on this tangent, could be the frustration of having been sitting around being useless for the last week with at least two more to go, not quite sure, doesn't matter I guess, at least I'll have more time to spend reading and posting on my most favorite website in the whole wide web. and yes, I'll be fine, not my first bout with knee trouble, won't be my last. oh well, the sun will still rise tomorrow. have a nice day and ride safe.

You lot don't know how lucky you are over the pond. We pay twice the price here. Equivalent of over $40 to fill a Standard tank.

                this is probably

The only way to slow me down. I've even been doing the speed limit plus 5 like most others now. I plan on doing a full tank at the speed limit and not so much hard excelerating away from the lights and see if my mileage increases. Hard for me as I like to go fast and I love the "g" forces of hard exceleration.

This bike is my reprieve from the pump shock. The way I look at it, the higher prices hit a little harder on a road trip, but in all actuality, even a 50 cent increase per gallon of fuel only results in me paying 2 bucks more for a tank full. A weekend road trip of 1000 miles may end up costing me $20 extra.

I love the G forces also on takeoffs. Spirited take offs from lights and such don't change my overall gas mileage enough to be an incentive to quit either. You can blame the big oil companies, or the Arabs, or whoever.... but NO ONE is going to take away the pleasure I get from this thing for 2 bucks more every 120 miles or so.

                  Just my 2 cents.

For the May long bank hoilday (when they always gouge us ) it's C$1.38/Ltr, which is about US$5.32/Gal - working on a US gal of 3.79 Litres.
However I'm nowhere near as pissed as many of the "natives" as it's about $3.52/ltr which is $8.40/gallon in the UK.
So it's got a way to go here before I really start to complain - like I tell my friends: Take your V6 / V8 to the UK and when you can't park it, maneouver it or afford the gas and insurance, you'll appreciate being here a little more. It's all releative though I guess - if that's what you've always been used to then when it increases it's annoying.

Anyway the weathers gorgeous and my buddy just phoned - apparently he wants his HD arse kicked on an afternoon ride and it would be rude of me not to oblige. He gets so mad when he's on his $30,000 bike and all he can see is my tailight

Wow... Gas was 4.15 here yesterday. I don't worry about it much. Think about it from the marine industry. Last month I was on a boat that burned 570galons of marine diesel in two days. That was taking it easy also. Luckily, the big ships burn HFO (Heavy fuel oil) which is less expensive. I am definitaly with Todd on this one. What is a few dollars more for taking some of the thrill away from riding.

                          I wonder

if it's the government's way of solving the global warming thing along with helping start the development of alternative fuels that's the real problem. It's the only real way of cutting back on our dependance on foreign oil.....
