photos of my SG coming along...almost done!

So far, I've replaced the headlight and frame, triple tree, chrome cups for tach/speedo, grips, starter and on/off switch assembly, air boots, seats reupholstered, new paint on tank and battery covers, clutch lever and mount, clutch cable, brake cable, speedometer cable, rebuilt the petcocks, new mirrors, new battery, changed oil filters, drive oil change. Probably a few other things I am leaving out.

Today's fun was putting on the new Jardine 4 into 1 exhaust. Can I get away with saying "I'm exhausted"?

Still need to change out brake pads and rebuild carbs, get my rear fender back from the chrome shop and lots and lots of polishing, especially the engine.

Work, work, work, money, money, money......

    Looking great DJ

And here I thought I was the only one around here with alot to do. It's looking great and I'm sure all that hard work will pay off.
Hopefully, we'll all get together and ride at some point. Have fun.

      Carolyn,

Thanks....I'm hoping to finally be riding it in just a few more weeks. Still waiting on the emblems for the battery covers. Should be here by Friday.

Good luck with the work on yours and maybe we can do a ride in the future.

          How's the rubber?

"Can I get away with saying "I'm exhausted"?"
          Hi Don,
sure you can. Could you also say "And I am tired."? Running around on age-hardened tires could get that freshly refurbished machine (and yourself) a nasty case of gravel rash.

Yep...thanks for validating my concerns (paranoia) and spending the money I did for new Dunlop Elite 3's front and back. I still need to get those put on too. I felt like it wasn't too smart to put all my trust in how the PO cared for it, ie: new brake pads to go on probably this afternoon, plus all the fluids are being changed.

Someone posted a link in another thread about restoring emblems. The company is called Badge Replicas and is located in Eltham Vic, Australia. I already received the first set for my SG and the battery emblems are solid metal, surprisingly heavy. The "Yamaha" for the tank is plastic but looks great. They aren't cheap though.....$200 for the set, 2 tank, 2 battery covers.

I already ordered the second set for the SH, however, since I liked the candy red on the SH's tank and covers, I put them on my SG which I have been working on first.

The SH has that 2nd gear problem so that's why I went with the SG first. The SH will get the tank and battery covers I had painted maroon.
