  • Passing by an XS11, the excitement

    Hey All,

This is more for the guy on his XS11 this morning.

I was heading into work today and coming up behind me when crossing the Narrows bridge was 3 motorcycles. As they passed I glanced over and became excited when I noticed one was a nicely kept XS11E! It has a vetter black fairing, cargo boxes and the sissy bar in back.

So I am posting here in the hopes that maybe that rider also posts!
He was heading north on Hwy 16 crossing the Narrows bridge with 2 other motorcyclists.

Nice to see another XS11 out there!

Saw an XJ 1100 last Sunday in Manchester. It had a Jolly Roger sticker in the place where the badges would be, but it had the unmistakeable four headers, v-shaped Maxim-style side covers, and XJ handlebars.

Discovered the kid across street has a special, though I doubt he knows what he has. It has drag pipes on it and it's so loud that even I don't like it. The first time he rolled it out on a Sunday morning, every neighbor on the street waited for him to get home with it and unloaded a barrage of interesting words and threats in his direction.

He recently came home with a crotch rocket in his pickup truck and I haven't seen the special since.

I noticed a 81 xs1100sh setting accross the road, I tried to make contact with the guy that owned it for about a month, as it was in pretty good shape. He was never home, but this girl was always around next door. I kept telling this lady i was looking to talk to him about it. When I finally talked to him, he didn't know I was after him, and he told me he just sold it to HER FOR $250!!!
I KNEW SHE SHOULDN'T BE TRUSTED!

Yup, those Northeast PA girls are all the same...

I grew up in NEPA, still have a lot of friends in Susquehanna County and family as well. Last time I went to visit, it was on my Standard. 167 miles driveway to driveway. Looking forward to a summer of weekends in NEPA riding the twisties along the Susquehanna River and through the mountains around Ararat (ski country) and Union Dale. It's funny how many interesting things you can find up in the hills. The ridgerunners don't always know what they have and part with stuff cheap. I once traded an old wringer-type washing machine for a 1977 Plymouth Duster!! The guy wanted the machine to clean hides with...

Anyhoo...never trust a girl from NEPA, particularly if she's related to ridgerunners or KNOWS where Ararat is!!!

hey Pa's not bad, northeast anyway. Mountains, trees and rolling hills. It's just like New York state.

                        Hammerhead1st;

So sorry you're not going to make it to XSEast, we could have shown you some of the reasons people move to PA:

                        1. To get away from the lake effect snow in western NY
                        2. To get a tech job that actually pays a living wage.
                        3. Indoor plumbing is readily available.

                          LOL!!!

Randy, I was raised in NEPA all of my life. When I turned 17, I got the heck out and never looked back. Not saying there isn't plenty of nice riding roads there, just NO WORK!! At least, not in extreme NEPA.

As for the indoor plumbing, well...putting a hole in the floor and routing the creek under your house does NOT COUNT.
