  • Ride to Gig Harbor on Saturday

Anybody interested in meeting in Gig Harbor for lunch on Saturday? We can talk about the rally in August (or not). They are calling for sun and temp in the 70s (A regular heat wave!).

There is a pub on the south end of town right on the water (can't remember the name). Say 1:00, Saturday?

FYI: Gig Harbor is just off SR 16, 4.3 miles north of the Narrow Bridge (for anybody new to the area).

I'll only consider it if Meri is going.

I'd go, but it would be a LONG swim from Fort Bragg. I'll be IN the water, looking for those elusive Abalone!!
I'll only consider it if Meri is going.
Denny, you NEED to keep at least ONE eye on this guy!!
Have a great ride, and enjoy the sun that finally found the PNW!

As you well know, Dear Meri, you are quite the bewitching female...
I will be deeply saddened by your absence.

I would rather dine alone... for without you, I'd only have Denny's plate to steal fries from.

Uhmm... you can't narrow that down a little more, could you?
Suppose I go into the wrong bar and bikers beat me up?

(Haven't fired the bike up since August, Denny. Let me clear a path to it tomorrow and I'll let you know my status.)

It is called the "Tides Tavern".

                Tavern Link

Coming from the south, take the Olympic Drive exit off SR16. Stay on Olympic until you come to the water front, the Tavern is right there.

Coming from the north, take the Wollochet Dr./Pinoneer Way exit off SR16. Take a left and cross over SR16. When you get to the waterfront, take a right. The tavern is on the left.

Is anybody going to show up? If not, I will ride someplace else.

                  "Ain't that a bunch o' ...."

I'm reduced to the status of a common member. (Not that member, TRBIG!)
Only runnin' on #3 and #4 right now, Denny.
This is real trouble, as you can imagine.
I wanted to fire it up and ride to the store...
You can see the quandry I'm in.
Can't ride the bike to get cigarettes....
Can't work on the bike without smokes...
...the hell am I gonna do now?

Gotta let the smoke and fumes clear from the garage, etc.

I'll post back later tonight, early morning at the latest.

                    Speaking of members...

I know you're new and all, but this sounds like a carb issue. If you do a search for "Carbs" you should find ample material to keep your mind occupied long enough to come up with a better excuse to blow poor Denny off...

Haven't fired the bike up since August

You friggin HERMIT!! Get your sorry butt outta the house and look for a dang job... even if it's the local 7-11. Think how many people you'd come into contact with daily that you could terrorize!! (REAL people... we don't count!) Besides... your dogs want the couch back!

                      responce please!

Rides like the Northwest Anniversary Ride don't just happen, they take planning. If people are serious about doing this let Dennyz know and don't leave it all up to someone else to do all the work. I know this is short notice, but we are trying to take advantage of the weather this Saturday to get the ground work started. This is important ,because there are reservations to make and routes to plan, before everything fills up and it's easier to do as a group. If you can't make this meeting let us know so we can try to make other arrangements.

Unfortunately, I can not make it Saturday. I have previous plans, but I will be taking the Special . First 70 degree day of the year you just have to ride
C'mon Prom, where are your priorities??? You haven't fixed your bike YET!?!? Typical mechanic-is a fountain of questionable knowledge, and can't get their own crap running What do you need, a hack like me to come fix it for ya

Just turn off the tv, walk to the store for some smokes and get some cold intoxicating beverage. then come back and fix your damn bike-

                          "Bribery..."

Convinced my son to go get me smokes... provided that I also give him money for Burgerwhop for dinner.
                          As for the bike,
                          Oddest thing...
Not what I was expecting at all.
Opened the drain bolt on #1 carb.
"Now that's not right? Nobody home, yet I hear gas sloshing in the tank."
                          Even if... No...
Bike is leanin' to the left, fuel is to the left o' the tank... why don't the left carbs have fuel?

The left carbs don't have fuel 'cause they're supplied by the right petcock.

Put 2 gallons in the tank, turned the right petcock to prime, got gas all over the floor. Works now.
Put the drain plug back in, turned to prime and hit the key.

                          See you guys tomorrow.

And don't start crackin' wise.... took me all of 5 minutes to figger out.

                              Modification

                              Done for two reasons:
Due to the short fuel hose length and to avoid kinks, when installing inline fuel filters, it's easier to use longer hose and to route them to the opposite petcocks.
With the now longer fuel hose, when working on the bike(Synchronizing carbs and such), one can remove the tank, turn it around and set it on the frame. Bike can still be run as the lines are still connected.
I just had forgotten that I had done the mod.
