Howdy, just wanted to let ya know that there is a new guy on the block. I currently own, fix and ride two Yammies, a 79 XS750 and an 86 FZ750. I am a member of the Yamaha Triples Community and I had to jump onto this site because I have been comissioned to do a complete rebuild/customization of an XS1100. It is my buddies bike and he wants it back on the road so I figured I had better get my butt logged into the proper community. Hey, even the saltiest bike mechanics need a shoulder to cry on, right?
Lord, I am a man but I can change if I have to, I guess (Quoted from Red Green)

          a bunch of salty dogs

and crusty too...LOL...I'm an old salt at owning my "82 XJ1100,but not such and old salt when it comes to working on it.For that I have this forum and the salts of the Yamaha community and the wealth of information and experiences to draw from....priceless...Welcome to the XS/XJ1100 community. There isnt any doubt in our minds that some of the greatest bikes ever made are the venerable Yamaha XS/XJ1100s'...despite their age they still are found alive and well on the roads throughout the world...and with the 30th anniv of the first XS Eleven ...it seems to just get better evry year...I cant believe my bike is 26 yrs old and that i've had it almost that long...Good Luck with your endeavors to rebuild this XS11 you spoke of.
