    i think i got a good deal,,

Gods honest truth,, i just got a 79 xs special, with 25,ooo miles, for $100.00,,YES,, it runs,, i did put in new plugs, had 1 lite not working, but other then that,, is 100% good. and yes, it had a clear title and the kid even threw in a fullface helmet. Havent been riding in over 20 years,, i am really loving getting back out on the road again,,i am wanting new tires and shocks, but that is no biggy,, was out riding today,, was great!!

The cheaper you get 'em means the more you can spend on them!!

WOW Dave that IS a deal. If you come across another one let me know.
      Where, in TX, are you?
You should plan to come to the TeXSive Rally 2003 in Septimber at Kerrville State Park. I will be posting more info in a few months.

what a deal! I was lucky also, My neibor gave me a 1981 special that had sit in a garge for a decade. I had to do $300.00 worth of fuel system work to get her running right. Spent $1000.00 on it in the first year, paint, tkat fork brace, tires, battery, etc.
This year is the seat recovering, SS brake lines, progressive fork springs, and a lot of polishing.
Here are my before and after pictures:

          AFTER

It is Amazing what a little paint & elbow grease will do for an old XS11.

good luck with your bike, may it roll many miles
