Windscreens can make it worse. I love my shield most of the time. In a light rain it even keeps me mostly dry. Had to ride home through a thunderstorm last night and I was only mildly damp when I got home. But when there are crosswinds it acts as a terrible sail.

        what winter?

While we are hardly tropical...haven't really had any measurable, lasting snow this year...yet...but the odds are running out on old man winter...I have ridden a modest 400 miles thus far in the '08 riding season...all of that has been on my honda ST1100...gotta love full fairing protection

I've had mine out twice now, even though we're still digging out from a winter with a record amount of snowfall.

Must restrain myself though, have a few things I want to get done before the 'real riding season' gets here and I don't want to cut into it doing maintenance/repairs that I should be doing now.

Yea, right ! Just means I have to take it apart and put it back together more often. And, the more often I do it... the better I get at it.

              Snowing again

Well, in 'toontown today it's just below freezing, new snow is gently drifting down and I am tasked to go to the store for milk & bread. The only wheels available are the one's on my rig so it's slithering off to Safeway for me. Gotta love that sidecar.

I was out for about a hundred mile ride the other day. I went to Bloomsburg for some parts. It was 29 when I left the house and I was frozen in ten miles. After that it wasn't so bad. It warmed up to 55 by the time I was home. Just happy to be out!

Finally got her out yesterday. It was beautiful out, mid 60s and sunny Rode for 10 minutes to warm her up then I changed the oil and filter. Rode 10 minutes then I changed middle gear oil. Rode 10 minutes then I changed final drive oil. Rode 20 minutes and had to come home to make dinner. It will be a little colder out today, but still nice. I will be out riding for the joy of it. I also finally got to wear my Tourmaster jacket that I got for x-mas. Today I will also break out the pants for the 1st time If all goes well she'll crack the 20K miles threshold today.

I put about 2,000 miles on so far this year but most of that was riding with Brent down in Florida last January. It has been a slow start up here but it is looking up now.

I haven't been out yet. I am however prepping my restored bike for the season. If I had my every day use bike ready or a plate on the Kat I would have been out. I will however wait until they sweep the streets before any regular use of any bike is started. they also need to fill the blasted POT HOLES. i have never seen the city streets in such poor condition.

Been out now for the last several days and have put a few hundred miles on. Gotta watch them intersections as they are FULL of sand yet. Have not yet seen the road sweeper (called thunder storms in northern WI).
Yesterday at about 80mi from home I started to lose a cylinder. Nasty vibration, would not idle, loss of power until I was near WOT. Limped her home and checked it all out. The vacuum port cap on the #2 cylinder was cracked. I replaced it with a new one and she is good to go again. As much as I harp on vacuum leaks you would have thought I would have figured this one out faster. Too bad I don't listen to myself

If there are more than three bolts holding it on there, it is most likely a very important part!

please confirm that's the overpants that match your Tourmaster Jacket?
Here in 'toontown I have been taking local rides on my rig despite the temperature hovering a few degrees either side of freezing and, Oh Joy! It's snowing again.
