Hi Brokenarrow,
in my day I too vandalized what would have become a priceless antique bike to modify it to my own taste so how can I condemn you for doing likewise?
Thing is, my welding a backyard copy of a McCandless Bros. swingarm conversion to a rigid frame Velocette was an attempt to make it more comfortable. Your BSA conversion would seem to be an attempt to make it unridable.
