If you are talking about the one that conects the fairing to the bike, it's a 9 pin connector, and it's available from Craig Vetter's Website.

    Halfway down the page.

for vetter or for worse ...

Well, I'll be, Craz ... sure enough !! I didn't realize Craig still had anything going on like that so I didn't even bother to check .... there's a six pinner on mine now so I guess I'll get the right stuff and re-make the whole harness .... thx for the good tip.

Np. I bought one myself last fall, just have to get around to putting it on.

He has actually been adding more items over the last few years. It is utterly amazing how many vetter windjammers were made in the 70's.

Would be really cool if he would design some new ones!

Early Vetters (turn lights not built in) took the 6-pin connector, later ones went to the 9-pin set-up.

After some research I found both set-ups used Molex connectors with .093 pins in the 9-pin version, don't know about the 6-pin version. You can still buy the male/female connectors, pins, and pin tool (not required but makes the job easier) to make up a new connection between the fairing and bike-side wiring.

A little more work and you can build a complete pigtail.

Hey I just bought a parts bike that has the vetter fairing on it. I was planning on selling the parts off it but since you guys have been so much help on here you can have the harness if you want it. You pay shipping. If you are close to N.C. you can pick up the whole fairing. (its not in the greatest shape anyway) Just give me a buz at 704-297-6644 I will be home all this weekend working on my deck or painting my tank.

All of you who said 9 pin were correct .... I musta' missed three connectors somewhere along the line.

Heh I only know because I have to replace mine, and I bought one from Vetter.

What I REALLY need is the vetter plug that goes to the trunk.

Vetter used AMP brand connectors. You can get replacements at Radio Shack!!

I wish it were that simple...

Couple of things, though. Vetter couldn't get the ones he used anymore and had to find a new supplier and there is no Radio Shack where I am.

No one, not even Vetter has a line on the ones that were used on the trunk. Every one that I have seen has been jury rigged with some replacement from Radio Shack or UAP/NAPA.

                          Hey Craz,

I picked up a Vetter trunk in the fall. I'll have a look at the connection when I can get into the shed. Snow still to deep in the backyard to get at it. I have a radio shack (source) nearby, will see if anything matchs.
