  • Merriam Cycle

    Good Day All,

Wanted to know if anyone out there with an XJ or XS has ever dealt with Merriam Cycle in Kansas. Have a 79 XS11 Special with 35K and will eventually need to do some work. Give me your thoughts.

Can't speak from experience workwise, but the owner is a virtual fountain of knowledge in regards to the XS. I have emailed Bob Jones on several occasions with questions and have always got a very lengthy, detailed answer. If you want someone to work on your m/c that actually knows it (a very rare thing today) Merriman Cycle seems to be the place.

      Merriam

From a parts supply and advice point of view I've used Merriam a couple of times as parts supply here in Europe for XS11's is virtually zilch.

Bob has provided some friendly advice and supplied parts quickly to me here in the UK. Even got a couple of keyrings thrown in for free!

I'd say that his interest in XS1100's means that Merriams are a pretty safe bet to take your bike.

After talking to them, seeing their shop and especially
seeing their work, if I didnt turn my own wrenches thats
who would be doing the work.
Bob's latest "creation" is something to see, I stared at it
and asked questions about it for 30 minutes.

I, too, highly recommend Merriam Cycle. Bob has helped me with info many times. He has been dealing in and working on XS's since the day they hit the showrooms. You can't go wrong with them.

Top notch organization. ALWAYS have been given good information and advise. Parts have been reasonable on pricing. I only wish they were closer!! Parts guys here in Albuquerque usually have to ask someone else in the the shop what a XS11 is!!
