    V&H head..?

Not that surprising, but still bad-A. What is surprising is the V&H head. I WANT ONE!
I have seen them for KZ's but never for the eleven.

I noticed the Vance and Hine's head as well. I searched for it, but could only come up with hits for exhaust. I figured the guy just put it in the wrong place. I was surprised that the horsepower calculator tool put the output at 87.13 at the flywheel.

I thought that it was supposed to be higher than that stock. I believe 95?

I wouldn't be surprised if the V&H head was a relic from the days when aftermarket companies still cared about the king of the quarter. Like I said, they made heads for the KZ's of the same period. I haven't heard of Hindle pipes though.

          1/4 Mile ET: 11.710
          1/4 Mile MPH: 114.000 <<<
          1/8 Mile ET: 7.510
          1/8 Mile MPH: 102.000 <<<

<<< would think it would still be pulling strong. Only about 11 percent increase last 1/8 mile ?

Guy shoulda got a light weight to run it for him.
No head light, but rest of bike looks like it's there.

                on this web site
under articles, cycle world mag 78

they did a story on the 78E xs-11

                box stock

                """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" """"""""
                PERFORMANCE
                Standing start 1/4-mile - 11.82 sec @ 115.38 mph
                """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" """"""'

i've seen other mags with 11.7 at 114

these are stock bikes, of course they were brand new.

so with a big bore kit and some head work i would expect better
                than 11.7
