  • Monsters in the Night

Yeah I know I'm a lousy poet. Words fail me any other way for this one . . .

    Monsters in the Night

    Deep within the night
    Where the monsters roam
I find I am among them
And so very far from home

    Why I have come here
    I really cannot say
    Forces in my soul said
I had to ride that day

    The balmy midnight air
    Really makes my spirit sing
The lust to ride, this need to see
Is a solid and tangible thing

    In the night I find
    A lady in distress
    Honor is required
    Can I pass this test?

My courage does not fail me
    Attackers are dissuaded
    Strength again my allay
    They were forcefully persuaded

    Away she finally travels
    Safety in the night
The cost for me was great
As I really hate to fight

    I rarely ever start things
Which is really just as well
‘cause once it’s clear it’s me who’ll finish them
I’ll send them straight to Hell

I was brought here for a reason
    Forces compelling me to roam
My task is finished, I am released
    The Dragon's headed home

    Hey Guys,

The above was a pretty early version of this poem, and I cannot edit it on this site, so

Updated text for this poem is HERE
