  • The Bag Lady Stirs!!!

Over the past few weeks I have been honing, re-ringing, lapping, and shimming valves, putting the ol'gal back together. Yesterday I put a battery and some fresh oil in it, hooked up the fuel lines, and cranked 'er up. It took some coaxing, but after a while it fired up. Smoked like hell from all of assembly oil in the cylinders, but that was expected. It didn't sound like it was hitting on all four so I spritzed some water on the pipes and found #1 & 2 were cold. It seemed like there was no fuel. I checked the petcocks, and found that the one feeding the left side wasn't completely in the on position. I turned it on and waited a few seconds, and Viola!, I had fuel pouring out of #2 carb. I turned the petcock off, and cranked it over. It started much easier, but #1 still was cold. I pulled the plug and it looked wet. I cleaned it off, and didn't put the plug wire back on completely, making the spark jump the gap, and possibly fire the plug. I also pulled the vacuum cap of that cylinder to lean it out some, and that worked. You could hear the cylinder firing sporatically until it smoothed out and settled into a decent idle. It was starting to get late, so I didn't have time to synch the carbs, but at least it's runnging again.

"Glad to hear the bike runs..."

You really need to rename the bike, though.
(Initially though this thread was about WildKat's cooking.)

            Well... that depends...

uncooked broc coli... when eaten... can be turned into a gas that may possibly be just as deadly (to others) when expelled from the body...

Broccoli isn't even edible. I really resent food companies that sneak this horrible, green, crap into my food!

Besides, Albert R. Broccoli makes decent spy movies...
