....and sad about it. First and foremost, I want to say thanks to all the members who have provided advice, technical support, and their experience over the years. A big thumbs up to all who helped out with needed parts(Andreas!!!). It truly has been an XSively positive experience for me. I will be posting the beast in the classifieds later today. For those who want to know, I purchased another bike a few months back and simply do not have time to ride both bikes as they should be ridden. The XS has been a willing and reliable partner over 8 years of ownership, taking me from austin to the southern tip of mexico several times, austin to seattle and back twice, all over this continent. I am hoping to sell it here, as I would prefer my baby go to a good home. She's a runner, not a trailer queen. Again, thanks to all. Here's to no regrets! Mark

Give new owner
Best to give the new owner the news about the site here. That way we at least maybe get a new member and keep another XS on the road. You can't stay young forever, but you can be immature for the rest of your life...

I sold my XJ11 years ago but i still come here and still attend the XS rallies, at the last rally there were about 30 bikes sadly about 12 of them were XS 11s. We are all still bikers with fond memories of our beloved old yammies . That said stick with us and enjoy the brotherhood long as you have two wheels your one of us !

would love to know ...
what ever became of your oil seal replacement project? The fix you engineered with the lipless seal looked beautiful and last I could find, you had 96 miles on and it was holding. Did it continue to hold or something else? ..... would love to know as I have one leaking too.
Sorry to hear you're parting with your 11 as well .... I will sell a couple of mine this year too, I think. Will keep one though .... welll...... maybe two ...80G Mini-bagger

I bought a Buell Ulysses. It's the 'kitchen sink' bike. It'll do everything, and looks great doing it(my opinion). Handling, power, brakes, smoothness are all amazing. I've had it since the end of last summer and can't get enough of it. It was an adjustment, but WOW, the rewards....79 xs1100F

Buell?
That's, that's... a Harley Davidson product!
Yes, you must leave at once and never darken the door again!
Sorry, I was channeling...........
I've looked at Buell, but they are cramped for my 6'4".
They have just announced a new model with detachable luggage and 103hp. Maybe they will come up with a sport touring model of the 1125R.

I saw one of those Buell's not too long ago and was inpressed by the styling as well. Thought it was a beemer at first. It's a nice looking bike.
The guy riding it said it was one of the most comfortable bikes he had owned. A pretty good endorsement...80 XS1100SG
